US BioTec Begins Field Testing of Product to Fight Asian Rust Disease in Soybean

GLEASON, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 7, 2005--US BioTec, Inc. an emerging player in the rapidly growing bio-chemical sector of the multi-billion dollar agri-business industry, today announced that through a joint venture with another biotech research organization, it has developed a non-toxic / non-carcinogenic compound that has produced positive laboratory results against pathogens similar to Asian Soybean Rust (phakopsora pachyrhizi). The product, which US BioTec hopes to bring to market in either this year or next, is projected to be marketed in a new pathogen repellent product category.

Following the very promising results from the companies' in-depth laboratory test, US BioTec will begin intensive field research of its all-natural Asian Rust product. The first applications on soybeans will begin in Georgia this week, with follow-up field tests being conducted in Tennessee in the coming weeks, weather permitting. The threat to the soybean crop in America is considered extremely severe, with confirmed cases of Asian Rust in multiple states already this year.

Cases of the disease have since been reported throughout the South as well as far into the Northern soybean growing regions of the U.S. In areas where soybean rust is established, crop losses can range from 10 percent to 80 percent.

USBO is also finalizing negotiations for a formulation plant that should be in operation by April 15th. The new corporate headquarters complex will host most of the growing company's operations, including its executive offices, offices for TelStar Logistics Corp. its wholly owned trucking subsidiary, and TelStar Funding Corp (TLC) its wholly owned factoring company, the parent company's latest venture.

The Company has also received a verbal commitment from Dave Edwards of Phoenix, AZ, who has over 15 years experience in trucking operations, to act as its V.P. of Safety Compliance. In addition, Mr. Lynch has received verbal commitments from 10 owner/operators willing to lease-on with TLC. The basic premise behind USBO's entry into the trucking market is that if USBO products are going to help growers produce commodities, then TLC trucks could help growers haul their commodities. USBO already has contacts with growers and a number of produce brokers that can position TLC favorably with growers. In addition, TCL trucks can also haul USBO products.

US BioTec has actively sought the most advantageous locations for its new corporate headquarters complex, as well as a location to house its manufacturing, warehousing and trucking operations.
